How many clicks your video gets is just one of the numbers. From there, it's engagement that counts.
Positive engagements by viewers include things like:
Subscribing to the posters channel.
Getting notifications of new videos from that channel.
Liking the video.
Commenting on the video.
Watching the entire video counts.
Clicking on ads that are imbedded in the video is terrific.
YouTube tracks all of those things and more. Then, it all goes into calculating the value of your channel to YouTube viewers and YouTube's bottom line.
You're not going to make much money from videos unless you get the subscriber count into the six digits. Once you do that, all of those other factors help to determine how much you earn. The more videos you have that generate great numbers, the more money you make.
No matter what you do, though, the amount your channel generates for you is not enormous, unless you have millions of subscribers and an aggregate of the engagement factors that is larger than most other channels on YouTube.
I wouldn't get involved with any of that. It's too much work for too little reward, really.
