For example, in one episode of The Good Wife, S6.E17, Undisclosed Recipients after Alicia has won her race she's told by her spin expert, Eli, that if anyone asks for a decision she's to say, "I'll make my decision in 48 hours." She proceeds to tell person after person (donors) that exact canned phrase.

It's a play on the tactic.

Anyone who believes and reports such garbage is an idiot.
