74. What it is you suggest we do?

I am not saying you are wrong, and I don't mean this as a challenge to what you are saying - I'm just trying to think it fully through.

I agree that people have a responsibility to use their brains and their hearts when choosing the direction for our country and society. But what do we do when someone doesn't take on that responsibility? What does it mean to stop giving them a pass?

If I know someone running a business is a Trump/MAGA/Right-wing whatever, I am not going to do business there. But I know that will be used by the right-wingers running for election. They'll say that leftists want to destroy business. They will say that this is a war on American/Traditional/Christian/Whatever values. They will work hard to convince that person to hate me and hurt me even more.

I would love to say that the correct thing to do is reach out to these people to try to help them understand what is going on - but I never see that having much success either.

If you come at them aggressively, ready to fight back against their BS, it just strengthens their resolve and supplies fuel for the propaganda machine. If you come with an olive branch, they laugh at you and get the first swing in the fight.

Meanwhile those running the show sit back and do whatever they want while we fight amongst each other.

At least that is how it feels to me.

So, back to my original question - what do you suggest we do?
