I am old enough to recall pre-syndacation of RW hate-talkers and local radio shows. But the hate came cheap an anyone who was feeling pressured to thinking they might have to examine their racism ect. were immediately told not to, that they were right all the time, everyong else was wrong. Then Fox came along.

A big % of Americans have ALWAYS been cruel. RW media fed that tendency to cruelty. More media exposed that cruelty
