36. I have theories about the evolution of the human brain...

...& it's ability to handle complexity without triggering a primitive "fight or flight" response.

In a nutshell, the complexity of our world has increased far far faster than the human brain could evolve to deal with it, so primitive responses (as opposed to intellectual ones) are being triggered much more frequently. Add to that a massive right-wing propaganda machine that's built upon triggering the primitive "fight" (fear) response, & here we are.
