I think because of how long and hard we fought in our younger days to right some of the wrongs, we are taking this a lot harder than some. Also, younger people may have the attitude that there are lots of years left to right this ship whereas we know we've reached the end of our average life span. We (at least I have) hear about friends, family, ex-coworkers, neighbors who have die that are the same or close to the same age as we are and our mortality is staring us right in the face.
Personally, I've decided that I have done all I could and if the majority of voters wanted this, then let them suffer the consequences. I feel sorry for those who didn't vote for IT who will be affected and I definitely feel very sorry for all those immigrants who don't deserve this treatement, but it's every man for himself now. That's the country we now live in and I am well set. Of course I'll still vote in all elections and straight Democratic ticket, but that's about it. I have no assurances that my vote will count. I do think it's all been rigged.
I know this isn't an upbeat post, but I'm a realist and I am going to turn the fight over to anyone younger than 70 while I enjoy my remaining years.
