120. So, I've foolishly stayed up all night watching political stuff on YouTube.

But it's the proverbial car wreck you can't look away from. We have a gig today at a winery and I really could've used the sleep. I will say, though, that I was relieved to see a few twenty-somethings doing their own pro-democracy shows. They still have hope that it's possible we'll eventually take our country back from the fascist creeps.

One of them had one of their fellow politically engaged compatriots who moved over a year ago from some European country to Ukraine to report on the war.

He was very savvy about what's happening with Putin, Trump, and Ukraine. People outside the US often see & know more than we do. Very interesting, though depressing, insights. I did get a little bit of inspiration from his description of the Ukrainian people. They have had to fight or as citizens at least endure a literal war of aggression & colonialist intent. Nearly everyone has lost loved ones to the battle.

Yet, as he's keen to share, he sees them finding time to enjoy the love & peace & beauty they can still find. Having picnics or going out to see a sunset with family or friends. They still get together to make meals & music. They celebrate love because that is winning. And he says they are "very patriotic to America," the good America, seperating the American people from the
Trump Regime. Long, but worth it.

I hope all righteaous Americans can find similar strength to fight for our country, especially if it can be a peaceful fight--more MLK than Malcolm X. Not exactly up my alley, but we're not yet willing to buy guns & train to use them. Nor are we ready to sit idly by.

I hope we can also still find some moments of joy in our lives despite it all. I know you can, Mary. Maybe grab your camera & find some beauty. I'll try to do the same.

Luke Beasley is the young man in the video I linked above. He throws in bit of comedy at times, but super smart & well informed. This one is from Adam Mockler, also super smart & well informed. Starting at about 4m 45s he disputes some commenters on his videos who are in such despair they don't believe we will have free & fair elections again. It gives me hope that he has faith.

Both of these guys use annoying, click baitey images & titles for their videos, but that's not reflective of their quality or veracity.
