It's a pretty stupid idea to denigrate A.I. when the GOP fascists amongst us won't bat an eye when they use it

Which is why I posted the reply I did. Were you trying to make another point?

We had someone here briefly (very briefly; quickly FFR'd) who, besides spamming the board with AI-generated music videos from his YouTube channel, argued that we HAD to use genAI to respond instantly with fake protest music to everything the Republicans did.

Which completely ignored the fact that protest music works because it's a human response to something outrageous. AI-generated protest songs are just as ridiculous as AI-generated love songs.

And what you'd posted had reminded me of his argument.

Good for you for teaching, including at a prison. Education helps with rehab, and these days it's a very good idea to make certain your students aren't cheating with AI. Though my understanding is that prisoners don't usually have unsupervised access to the internet.
