(3,120 posts)Trump didn't get any landslide or anything close to it, but they managed to take out some Democratic senators whom we believed would be 'safe'.
In the event of an anti-GOP landslide midterm, we could take out some GQP senators
whom they believe are "safe"---- and certainly in 2028 after the horrible bill takes effect,
and God knows what else, by then...
I now would model the next elections against 2006, 2008 and 2018---
The anti-Iraq war votes against Bush in 2006 and 2008 are somewhat instructive now--
In that case people were voting against the continuation of the Iraq war,
and a bad economy near the end of 2008----
but with the Bush wars, which the people reacted against overwhelmingly--
the President was not waging war against the people themselves!!!
This President IS waging a war against the people! Economically, that is not hyperbole...
We should target the Senate as well as the House in 2026! While taking the Senate would be more difficult,
it isn't completely out of the realm of possibility!
Democratic victories in North Carolina, Maine, Ohio and Texas would do it---
while holding onto Democratic states up for re-election.
(May be other Republican seats that could be vulnerable in a Democratic landslide,
but those are the ones that come to mind at the moment---
and I would like to see Brown run again in Ohio again, that would help.)
