That's more than 3 full months prior to the election. I believe you're completely wrong about Trump being happy to have the Olympics moved from Los Angeles. He'd throw a fit. There is no other city in the US which is suitable to host - the IOC has already made that clear. If moved, they would have to be moved to another country. Trump campaigned very hard to get the IOC to get Los Angeles chosen as the site for 2028 (even though they were the only bidder) He actually wanted the 2024 games but lost out to Paris. He views getting the 2028 Olympics in LA as a great accomplishment. Having it moved to another country would absolutely devastate Trump. I can only imagine how insanely he would react if this were to happen.

The biggest problem in moving them would be the fact that not a single other city/country in the world placed a bid for these games.
