Trump wing tend toward authoritarianism (rules, hierarchy, LEADER)
Not all the time. Authoritarianism is not stable. Reactivate by fear.

Trump supporters are not poor, not ultra rich, but they have perceived social status.
Automatic right to superior social status is threatened. Cultural dethronement.

Whites are threatened by browns and blacks being educated, in business, ...
Men are threatened by women taking over. Also educated. Getting advancements.
Hispanics are threatened by immigrants. To be taking their positions.
Blacks with local social status fear upheaval. Losing their earned social position.

Fear invokes authoritarians to be mean.
