1998 United States Senate election in New York
The 1998 United States Senate election in New York was held November 3, 1998, along with elections to the United States Senate in other states, as well as elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections. Incumbent Republican Senator Al D'Amato lost his bid for a fourth term to Democrat Chuck Schumer in what was considered by many to be the "high[est] profile and nastiest" contest of the year.
This was the first time since 1950 that Democrats won the Class 3 United States Senate seat from New York, and the last time an incumbent U.S. Senator from New York lost a general election.
Schumer's swearing in marked the first time since 1947 that Democrats held both of New York's U.S. Senate seats.

I don't believe that's what was implied. I think the point is that what we're doing IS NOT WORKING.

That cartoon took a speck of truth and MAGAsized it. It's been posted here before, and while I think it's ...

You're aware that self-described 'progressives' can mindlessly shit on Democrats too, right?

Took the cartoon panel to illustrate Schumer's fecklessness...his sometimes ham-handed
allegorical oracle

Meh for the age thing. There are 15 senators older than Schumer, including 2 Independents and 10 Democrats.

Schumer isn't a MTA bus driver who murders pedestrians. And it is a dishonest analogy (Don't be so obtuse)

Took look quick Steve, no issue here, accuracy can be painful and admitting our leaders need to do above pushing paper?

What's 'accurate' about it? Doesn't understand basic civics, doesn't understand GOP controls congress

I will approach this with an open mind-- I haven't seen the previous post yet.

I liked the cartoon and it was hardly 'a lot of DUers' who got argy bargy about, just a handful. Ignore them.

Didn't find it funny, the accusations need to be true to be funny. Need the bashing points explained to me I guess.

Blaming Democrats for what Republicans do is apparently more and more attractive here.

Someone unfamiliar with U.S. politics would think Democratic leadership/party were the bad ones

Very disappointing. I don't see much changing. This is the American people, not cartoon oligarchs and billionaires.

You don't need to apologize, those posters should be ashamed and apologize to YOU.

You mean like the same people who refused to vote for Hillary in 2016 and VP Harris in 2024 by either not voting
