In reply to the discussion: It seems I pissed off a lot of DUers yesterday... [View all]DFW

Ive been on the road a bit, posting at odd hours due to jet lag.
I found the cartoon devoid of humor, but understood the point of the effort to be eliciting shouts of right on rather than laughs.
It emphasizes one sub-point of view shared by some Democrats, by no means all. Meanness, anger, cynicism, yes, but also reflecting a frustration shared by a majority that does not share the other three to an equal degree. If I were on a juryand to make it clear, I am not, and never will beI would certainly have voted to let it stand. One doesnt have to share a point of view in order to respect its validity.

I don't believe that's what was implied. I think the point is that what we're doing IS NOT WORKING.

That cartoon took a speck of truth and MAGAsized it. It's been posted here before, and while I think it's ...

You're aware that self-described 'progressives' can mindlessly shit on Democrats too, right?

Took the cartoon panel to illustrate Schumer's fecklessness...his sometimes ham-handed
allegorical oracle

Meh for the age thing. There are 15 senators older than Schumer, including 2 Independents and 10 Democrats.

Schumer isn't a MTA bus driver who murders pedestrians. And it is a dishonest analogy (Don't be so obtuse)

Took look quick Steve, no issue here, accuracy can be painful and admitting our leaders need to do above pushing paper?

What's 'accurate' about it? Doesn't understand basic civics, doesn't understand GOP controls congress

I will approach this with an open mind-- I haven't seen the previous post yet.

I liked the cartoon and it was hardly 'a lot of DUers' who got argy bargy about, just a handful. Ignore them.

Didn't find it funny, the accusations need to be true to be funny. Need the bashing points explained to me I guess.

Blaming Democrats for what Republicans do is apparently more and more attractive here.

Someone unfamiliar with U.S. politics would think Democratic leadership/party were the bad ones

Very disappointing. I don't see much changing. This is the American people, not cartoon oligarchs and billionaires.

You don't need to apologize, those posters should be ashamed and apologize to YOU.

You mean like the same people who refused to vote for Hillary in 2016 and VP Harris in 2024 by either not voting

Republicans held that New York senate seat from 1957 through 1998 until Chuck Schumer was elected.
