Joseph W. Tirrell
Joseph W. Tirrell became Director of the Departmental Ethics Office in July of 2023. Mr. Tirrell has been with the Justice Management Division (JMD) Departmental Ethics Office since early 2018, when he transferred from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after more than a decade of service. He served as the Deputy Director of DEO and then the Acting Director before his appointment as the Director. He has 23 years of Federal service including the last 16 years with the Department. Mr. Tirrell was a Presidential Management Fellow at the FBI, where he served in a variety of roles, including the FBIs Office of General Counsel and the FBIs Policy Office. Immediately prior to coming to JMD, he worked as an ethics attorney and compliance program manager in the FBIs Office of Integrity and Compliance.

I can only assume she had no idea an "ethics advisor", or ethics in general, were a thing
