(4,275 posts)But then again Jewish people in Europe are not as protected and one would assume that the quota for taking in Jewish refugees from Europe and the Middle East would be far below what may be needed. I don't fear for only myself but for my people. Antisemitism in Europe is on the rise.
Palestinians who were displaced at Israel's creation may be upset but that was their forefather's choice. Many Palestinian Arabs chose to stay in Israel and are citizens, even serving in the IDF.
You know the history of the area and you know that Palestinians living in the area were warned by bordering Arab nations that they were going to attack Israel - so they fled hoping the Jewish people would be driven out or killed. The Arab nations lost that war - and now we have the situation that exists. I know this is simplistic but I believe it to be true. It doesn't matter that Jews in bordering countries were driven out, their lands confiscated some time after the inception of Israel - it did happen. Where's the outrage there? Can they return to their ancestral homes? Israel took them in - unfortunately the Arab nations did not embrace displaced Palestinians - no need to blame Israel and Jewish people around the globe for that.
The issue is not as simple as some would think.
I'm honestly dismayed by the attitude by some people here is that Palestinians=good no matter what they do and, Israelis/Jews=evil.
