ARE the ICE employees. Either directly through gov't hire, or indirectly by being a hired mercenary of Blackwater (or whatever it is called now). No matter how you cut it, though, you can and probably should call it what it actually is -- trump's private army. These people are spread throughout the government, IMO, via different law enforcement departments. I think they actually believe they are above the law because they're doing trump's bidding. And who knows? When you get right down to it, they're probably correct. It seems like no matter how cruel they act, no matter how aggressive, rude, or mean, they're not brought to order by anyone; not even the judicial system. Like trump, everything they've done they've gotten away with. No real punishment, no accountability. And there'll be even less of it when they start coming for Democrats and the rest of us who are in an out-of-favor group.
I'm not sure exactly how we get out of this mess, but we MUST take down this maladministration. Purges don't just happen in other third world countries. For all that's happened here since the middle of January, you see these types of things can and DO happen here. We are no better nor worse than any other third world country ruled by a dictator.
Writing those words scare me to death. I never thought I'd live under a dictatorship. Even worse, it's coming at the worst possible time for so many of us... we're on the far end of the edge of life; we have neither physical strength nor stamina in fighting them. And any move made by anyone that even looks like you're not immediately bending the knee and kissing butt means you'll probably be charged with at least obstruction. For many, witty retorts that served us well in the 60's and 70's are meaningless in this day and age. I want to say where are the well-placed, skilled snipers when we need them?! /s I don't want to get down in the mud to wrassle with this evil, but we may end up there to have even a chance at reclaiming our country and ideals. Once they establish a theocracy layered over their dictatorship, we're screwed well and good.
For all good Christians out there who try to live up to Jesus' ideals, there are at least 20 others who are fake - spiritually damaged beyond repair. We often say ETTD... we need to add to that these people's souls that he has tricked them into forfeiting, too... if you believe we have such a thing. trump is worse than the snake in the Garden. He's worse than the Romans who drew lots at the foot of the cross. And there'll be no redemption for him, or them, as he "admits" he has no need to repent - he's perfect. We are so screwed right now. I want to believe in the sun shining tomorrow, but some nights it feels like forever before dawn will rise triumphantly once again.
