(7,238 posts)She does not actually have to step out of the Trad Wife roll the magas want to push. Her kids will remain housed and fed. Not all mothers can say the same. But, the Kirk Family Business might be too profitable to walk away from.
Understandable she is deeply hurt losing her spouse. It happens to about half of us, but maybe not violently. I even understand some anger, tho people of her political ilk seem to be over-steeped in anger to the point they actively seek (whether they realize it of not) reasons to be perpetually pissed off. She probably could do with therapy.
But it was a guy on HER side of the political spectrum who killed her husband so why is she going to war against those of us who want civility and sensible gun safety laws? Where was her fury at the people who killed school kids over the decades? Where are her 'Christian values' when, over and over, her desire for an unfettered 2nd Amendment is paid for with the blood of innocents.
I do not grieve for her husband, having lived long and seen this too many times. I do hope she is bright enough to get counseling to get thru this trauma and over her irrational butt hurt at the people who did NOT kill her spouse. It would be helpful for her children if she got therapy. It might even be helpful for her, if she took real help to heart. But I have lived long and am not holding my breath that she has the kind of courage required to take a long hard look at reality of how, and who, sets the conditions for this senseless violence.
