Telling family members or strangers on the internet that they are full of shit would do nothing to heal the political divide in the nation.

IIRC, the topic of you OP is that, failure to speak out is, in your opinion, the cause of the nation’s political climate.

You know what changes (some people’s) minds?

Legislation and court rulings that protect rights so that women, non-whites and non-binary/cis people can enjoy the same privileges that white men do.

Look at how the majority of folks now accept marriage equality - that didn’t happen by telling people they are full of shit, it happened because it was forced upon them by the rule of law, and they realized their lives didn’t fall apart as a consequence. Those who are still uncomfortable with it fight back, threaten, tell people they are full of shit, meanwhile the law (for the moment) protects the right to marry whoever you choose,
