(41,774 posts)I agree with everything you say about liberals, except the part where you agree with kentuck that we didn't speak up enough.
I've been into politics since the LBJ Nixon years. So like most liberals I've witnessed and supported
the Civil Rights Movement,
the anti-apartheid movement (in which I did my part for disinvesting #35 million from the AFT Local #1 pension fund),
the Million Man marches on DC,
the March for Our Lives movement against the NRA and US gun policy,
the Moral Monday marches & sit-ins,
the antiwar activism that's led to the creation of the Campus Antiwar Network and the refounding of SDS in 2006.
and today's Indivisibles protests.
Just because corporate media ignores or biases its headlines against these liberal actions, that isn't in any way caused by liberal silence or liberal unwillingness to speak up.
Across generations it has taken a lot of liberal talk and action to get to where we liberals are today.
