59. I think the Discord messages are an alibi for the roommate.

Yesterday

There's no way that roommate didn't know about the engravings or had a discussion about it.

The first sentence shown is him speaking of his rifle as if the roommate knows what he is talking about.

Then the roommate pleads ignorance and he changes his tone completely. Essentially admitting to it. It comes off as a role play but it is very very real.

Then he mentions the rifle again, and again it is as if he expects the roommate to know about dumping it.

Then radio silence. And he turns himself in. For him the rifle is like the sheath the Moscow murderer left behind. His dad recognized it instantly and asked about "grandpa's rifle" which caused Robinson to fess up.
