So, is there a right-wing mourning period [View all]

For Kirk’s death? Or are they going to turn him into some kind of Mohammed of the West?

I think it’s curious how quickly that strategy went into play to silence even quoting his own words to show the world he wasn’t a candidate for canonization and provide a balanced view. And they will probably continue to use the strategy until it gets a court vetting based on the First Amendment.

And then you have the authorities doing their very best to control the evidence found at the hangings of two young black men. They were too quick to call it suicide. What could their deaths prove when it is discovered otherwise? For me it suggests that for some on the right, they are just looking for a reason to start a race war, and all this attempt to keep Kirk’s own words under tap feels very much like how the racist South operated for generations.

These are dark times in America.
