And he even had a nickname for it.

Since Trump and his fat shaming sidekick were channeling George C. Scott in the opening scene of the film Patton today, I entered “George Patton had a pot belly” on the search line. AI confirms that Patton did indeed wage his own personal Battle of the Bulge:

Contrary to the popular image of a hard-charging, trim soldier, General George S. Patton did have a belly that he referred to as his "oil belly". The exact size of his midsection is debated, but accounts from people who knew him, like Red Cross worker Betty South, indicate that it was noticeable.
