Question for people in areas where the gestapo has invaded

EDIT: Please don't reply if you're going to do so with a condescending answer as though I haven't been aware of how deep and prevalent white supremacy is in the US because, yes of COURSE, this country was built on it. That fucking pisses me off to no end. If you don't understand my question and why I'm asking because I wasn't clear enough, just ask. I'm so fucking tired of the condescension here.



I'm in the Raleigh-Durham area and they started their reign of terror here yesterday. We know things are always different when it is happening all around you rather than watching it happen from afar.

Seeing they landed Monday night, I was ready to get out the word, spot and disrupt and do whatever else I could to be of service to a terrified population. And, mind you, having seen what they have been doing elsewhere, the only people not personally afraid of being detained are white people. Period.

I was so grateful and impressed to see old white people (like myself) -- many of whom had never gotten involved with anything resembling activism -- EVERYWHERE. Showing up at the types of places they're expected to be, following the app sightings, etc.

HOWEVER. At the end of the day as I tried to get caught up on social media with the day's events and developments and plans for today, the comments quite literally sickened me.

I know and have known my entire life how prevalent the white supremacist worldview is. In all areas, not just the south. MAGA wasn't a surprise.

Still, to see the level of absolute fucking glee being spewed by real people (I wish they were bots but they weren't), on every platform flattened me. I have no doubt whatsoever many of them were calling into the hotline reporting people.

I'm not talking about a relative handful of loudmouths. It's a LOT of people in this area.

I keep reading about the solidarity the community had in Charlotte and certainly Chicago and other areas. And while there is certainly solidarity here, it's like half the population here whipped off their hoods overnight.

I'm wondering if other areas experienced a tsunami of open white supremacism when the gestapo invaded. Or if we are the first.
