Did you miss me? [View all]

Just back from three days in hospital because of "myocardial infarction". I'd felt crummy on Sunday and Monday, but did not have symptoms that would make sense to go to the ER. After all, feeling crummy isn't at all specific or helpful to the docs.

Tuesday morning I felt so awful I couldn't get out of bed, and when I finally did, I called 911. This is the second time I've ever called them, and they are wonderful. This time I had serious chest pain, and the 20 or 30 minutes it took to get to the hospital were very difficult. But when we got there, I was well taken care of, got appropriate care, and now I'm home, lucky me.

As I was posting this, I realized that heart issues are extremely common, and so the medical field is good at dealing with them, and that got me thinking about how much worse it would be to have some rate disease they know little about.

Again, lucky me.
