It's not just that ICE is incompetent. They literally have no incentive to be competent or to avoid making mistakes or committing gross injustice.

All the Orange Hellbeast cares about is large numbers of people getting thrown out of the country, and ICE has been goven carte blanche to make that happen. Schlump doesn't care WHO is getting thrown out, whether they are actually an "illegal" alien or even an alien at all. ICE knows this, and they are more than happy to scoop up green card holders, people who are in the process of applying for refugee status, or even American citizens, naturalized or native born alike

This is what happens when a megalomaniac gets this much power and is willing to hire unscrupulous people and unleash them on an unsuspecting populace to do whatever the hell they feel like doing. ICE simply doesn't care, because they have no incentive to care and no accountability.
