When I lived in NJ way back when I was more active in the Democratic Party. Anytime I floated the notion that the state party should implement ranked choice in its primaries, I was practically laughed out of the room.

It just always made sense that implementing ranked choice in our own primaries -- where the Party determines how our nominees are determined -- would face far fewer hurdles than attempting to implement in general elections. It would also demonstrate that the Democratic Party stands for REAL Democracy, not some first past the post bullshit. I also thought that once people saw how it worked in our primaries, it would be clear it is just so sensible that it would catch on in general elections.

I sure hope resistance to the notion is finally breaking down.
