In spite of all Trump's efforts to thwart that aid and betray Ukraine at every opportunity.

And not that he is doing the right thing this time either - after all, that is antithetical to his character.

It's just more of what in the world of sports is known as "playing the refs." A very commonplace miscreant's and inferior competitor's ruse.
