My youngest granddaughter stayed with her very immature parents for the two years of her life after the inlaw grandparents "gifted" an apartment for them to live rent free in (after Son in Law complained to them I was forcing him to go to CC for any sort of job training while they were living rent free with us and the oldest granddaughter -who ended up with us because they felt she was "jealous" ).
Eventually, both girls ended up with us. But they had so alternatively spoiled and ignored the younger long enough that she still (now 9) has serious behavioral problems if she can't command your attention whenever she wants it. Or if you don't treat her like the Princess Toy she was treated as by her parents.
Doesn't help she's on a neurodivergant spectrum, like her mom is.

Unfortunately, he's always had enough money behind him to buy that attention and submission that he can't conceive of a "No" answer as anything other than a direct attack against him.
