Trump's people are likely to treat the provenance of the gun and a thorough investigation of how the killer obtained it as prohibitively sensitive.

This crime is not about the gun, they will claim. This crime is about a vicious foreigner.

But the public policy implications of guns and ammunition in the hands of the public are very much at the center of the story of how the killer obtained it.

Keep pressing for proper inquiry into this.
