(4,840 posts)in the job world? Men. It's practically a sport and some men pride themselves on how much they can take and dish out. For eons the career world was male dominated and that's the way it was operated. Just because some women accidentally or even cynically adopt what has been the traditionally competitive male ethos of the job market, doesn't mean feminism did that. Cruelty certainly isn't right when perpetrated by either sex but that's not feminism. If meanness were a symptom of feminism there would have been none of it before women started entering the job market. The meanness was always there as a non-gender specific behavior in the business world due to the worship of competition. It just didn't hurt as much when it was only coming from the undesirable same sex.
and I think the key word in your post in regards to "masculinity" (which today isn't really any kind of genuine masculinity) being "in" is "worse." "it's only going to get worse." Something that had any genuine value could never be described as "getting worse." So that pretty much speaks for the current trend in "masculinity."
