It's a logical fallacy that goes like this: just because there's some overlap on one issue between Progressive Democrats and Rand Paul, ipso facto, all Progressives actually are Rand Paul supporters.

Pretty crude attack, but the NSA-Obama apologists keep on whipping that overburdened donkey as if it were going to win the Kentucky Derby for them. Poor creature.
