I think the biggest fundamental you mention is the price of oil (ergo gas), this is big. I've seen these posts on DU playing down the fact that US is dependent on crude imports, again and again. The latest is here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002352003
This is yet another article which attempts to obscure the fact that our gasoline exports (which are large) are different from our crude exports (which are non-existent), to perpetuate the idea that if America only stopped exporting, prices would be low. But any quantitative analysis shows that all the gasoline America exports comes from crude America imports: this country is out of oil, its only refining other people's imported crude into gasoline and sending it back to them. They are attempting to smear Obama by claiming that Obama is sending oil overseas to raise prices here. A real analysis shows the common sense in these green energy programs Obama supports, as well as a concerted local push for energy independence (Obama supports) are the way forward.

This is unethical politics at its foulest: Downplay the systemic challenges America is facing as products of the current president long enough to get somebody in, who will proceed to completely fail because he/she faces the same challenges. Short sighted crap.

We should recognize two things. 1) A moral revolution is happening in the Republican party right now, seeking to separate big government militarism from their professed small government principles. 2) People are awakening generally to perception control methods that have obscured reality in the name of corporate profits in the past.

What that means is that in the context of this awakening, we all should seek to do the most moral thing based on the information we have, and have no fear, the sacrifices we have made will be known.

Its time to do the right thing and let the consequences be damned.

Peace
