2. Unlearning that consumerism propaganda is painful to say the least

Many of us have had to deal with bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings even if in the end, like me, they get the reprieve of getting a loan modification rather than a one way ticket into homelessness. It's been financially quite painful for a few years, but because I still have my condo and my two jobs I'm one of the lucky ones. I also experienced the stress of getting laid off, but was lucky to get re-hired. In order to keep the condo I've had to cut out a lot of things I used to not even give a second thought to.

I'm glad though. I prefer reality which is based on truth even if it is painful. I needed to learn what I learned.
