(1,464 posts)57. A few weeks before the election, Kerry acknowledged that 2 million votes of African Americans
go missing in every election, and promised that he would demand that every vote was counted.
I was thus dismayed that he caved in and conceded so soon. At the time, I told myself that he was engaging in some kind of multi-dimensional strategy to lay a trap for those that stole the election. But he wouldn't even participate in the campaign by third parties (Green and Libertarian) for a recount of the Ohio votes, and all we ever got from Congress was a lot of bluster from John Conyers that resulted in nothing more than a couple of reports, and a symbolic challenge in the Senate to the acceptance of the Ohio Electors that gave a few people a chance to make some pretty speeches.
