Roundheels Kerry conceded the next day after specifically referring to the 2 million black votes lost in every election and promising that he would see that every vote was counted. And this was after "Fahrenheit 9/11" had already publicized the shameful scene where Al Gore personally gaveled down the Congressional reps who wanted to file protests about the Florida vote count.
There's nothing odd about pointing out the affront to African American voters. They're the ones who stood out in the November rain waiting for hours to vote because Ken Blackwell and the Republicans had sent all the voting machines out to the wealthy suburbs and denied them to the inner city.
Furthermore, Kerry's premature concession was an affront to the electoral integrity activists who recognized the serious challenges to democracy represented by the Supreme Court preventing the counting of votes in 2000, and by the prevalence of very hinky voting machines (decried in cover stories by both Popular Mechanics and Popular Science) in the process.
