Us vs. them [View all]

As divided as this country has been for the past 30 yrs, it has given a lot, if not most, the us vs them mentality. It is just as prevalent in the dem party as it is in the repub party. Doesn't it seem logical that at some point we will have to unite or suffer irreparable damage or even demise?

But, how can we achieve this? What will it take for us realize the inevitable? More and more people are living in poverty while the rich get richer. Even an idiot can realize this is not sustainable. Unless the uber-rich decide to put their monies back into the economy, we will perish as a nation. We can remedy this by taxation, which is about the only avenue we can take since the rich just want to hoard so much, but that is what is causing so much dissent. If the rich think they are so much smarter, why can't they see that it would serve both their interests and that of the nation for them to put those monies back into the economy? I don't know the answer, but I do know what the outcome will be without drastic change......and quick!

Greed and gluttony have infected our society. We need a cure. It won't come from either party individually, but only as a united effort from both. If this ole country boy can see it, why can't everyone else?
