77. No, because we humans humanize almost everything in our world.

Guys, especially teenage guys, humanize their cars. Most pet owner I know humanize their pets. Couples without children often consider their pets the same as their children and equal to other people's children. I used to date a Wiccan who humanized trees. They were not only alive but she talked to them and believed they talked back. I think animals should be treated humanely, even if we intend to eat them for dinner. I have even seen some evidence that dogs and other higher mammals are even conscious creatures.

PETA carries it much farther than I would, but I'm pretty tolerant so what they believe doesn't affect me. I've had both dogs and cats. They were amazing creatures, affectionate, caring companions. They were not human. I saw them as their own beings.

Ive never met anyone who would watch a child drown to save their pet. I would not think highly of them.
