Rep. Vance McAllister is losing support from his fellow Republicans pretty quickly.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Thursday afternoon joined the chairman of the state’s Republican Party in calling for McAllister to resign from Congress, after he was caught on video kissing a female staffer.

“Congressman McAllister’s behavior is an embarrassment and he should resign,” Jindal said in a statement reported by The News Star in Monroe. “He says he wants privacy to work on his issues with his family. The best way to get privacy and work on putting his family back together is to resign from Congress.”

Just hours before, Louisiana GOP Chairman Roger Villere Jr. slammed the “extreme hypocrisy” displayed by McAllister, a married man with five children who trumpeted Christian values during his special election in November.
