Maybe not.

Try reading Zechariah Sitchin's The Twelfth Planet, and you may begin to have your doubts.

Am not saying he's right, but considering the ancient writings and worshiped figures, it sure gives you an unbelievable but logical answer. Much of his book is based on Sumarian, Babylonian, and Egyptian carvings, reinforced by cave drawings in every country of the world.
