(62,325 posts)Assembly. If a consensus is reached to join, in this case, the students, as happened here all over the country today and is continuing into the evening, then they will join the students as requested.
Glad this time you asked, it was students who were the most active in OWS from the very beginning and here in the US, had you been following their activities over the winter, those students, many of them Occupiers themselves, have been protesting Student Loans on many campuses as part of the Occupy Movement.
Do you have any examples of the process I just outlined not being adhered to and OWS 'coopting' any group without, 1) being a part of that group themselves, and as I said, a huge part of the movement IS made up of students, I know several of them, and 2) raising the issue at a General Assembly. If you do, that can be easily fixed at the next General Assembly.
But I have followed OWS throughout the winter in most of the cities of the US and Europe. I have never seen or heard of an instance of OWS coopting any group. I'm sure it could happen, nothing is perfect, but then it would be dealt with at a GA.
