In reply to the discussion: In what parallel universe does a Jewish, self-described Socialist who [View all]Behind the Aegis
(55,540 posts)I don't know how "electable" he will or won't be, any more than I did with Obama. I do, however, have concerns he will be pilloried for being a socialist, a term not even understood by some on the left, and for being Jewish. Hell, look at this thread where you have been chastised for "not supporting the Jew" and being an anti-Semite, IN THE SAME THREAD!! The right, despite their "love" for Israel, do not have that same love for Jews. Then, there is the left...again, just look at this thread or the scads of others where "Democrats are bad. Jewish Democrats are the worst." or the very mention of Jewish politicians brings out the long knives. We get 'lists of dual citizens" (all Jews, of course) and the predictable hand-wringing about "such a small group of individuals running the country." Or how the Congress is run by "The Likud", can imagine the response about a Jewish president?! The recent threads about the gay couple who sponsored Cruz? "Jewish first, gay second." Yeah, Sanders will have a tough road to face, but so will Hillary, which is also just as evident, even more so at this point.
Personally, I don't care about his hair anymore than I do Hillary's, but I suppose that was just a joke.
