33. They aren't thinking, which is the problem.

Some people do not want the responsibility which comes with having a pet. When we lived in New Orleans, I became the "crazy cat lady" of the street because I fed all the strays (eventually capturing them and paying to have them fixed and vaccinated). There were LOTS of strays after Katrina. Before we left, there were about 20 cats who showed up on a regular basis (a stray rooster too). I left two big bags of cat food with neighbors so they would take care of them.

I understand when people have financial difficulties, but to abandon a pet is just cruel.
