They said they didn't even really understand what they were representing at the time and that they enjoy ethnic diversity now that they have been exposed to different people of different races.
The CCC ran an ad in my local newspaper against Lollapalooza coming to Rockingham, NC. In the ad, they said the concert would bring in gay people and turn everyone that lives here gay. They seem to hate on several levels. Trying to get local church groups here and local officials to see the CCC are a hate group was like pulling teeth though. They never did believe me. Maybe now, they will get their heads out of their asses and quit cozying up to that group, at least.
There was also an area called the five states where NC, SC, Tenn., Georgia and Alabama connect and almost connect that was full of some of the worst racist hate groups in the country. It's where Eric Rudolph was offered asylum in a church by a preacher and some other people wrote a folk song in favor of what he did.
It has been bad since at least the mid 90s, and the GOP has been cozying up to them all along the way, with no repercussions or boycotts or anything.
