Fellow DUers! I, a descendant of "Johnny Reb", confederate soldier for the 1%, am overjoyed at this day of finally removing the rebel flag from our state house. Here in the big city Columbia, most of us black and white are longtime co-workers, friends and neighbors. Many of the rest of us are successful products of the 1970's "big-government" program of de-segregation, in which they threw us all into the same schools, we had some good ol' fist-fights for a few weeks, and then became great friends. The Charleston atrocity merely highlighted the abundance of dignity and love that our black people are made of.
My tiny DU contribution to this day is to dispose of this account "johnnyreb". I love the good people of DU and will return soon enough with some other name. Always remember how We South Carolinians are honored to stand upon the fallen flag and declare our black American citizens to be our brothers, sisters, and countrymen.
