If AIPAC and Benjamin Netanyahu had supported the Iran nuclear deal, [View all]
would Chuck Schumer have still chosen to oppose it?
This is a fairly simple and straightforward question--do people believe that he made his decision on this deal based exclusively on his belief that the US interests would be better served with the deal collapsing due to Congress's refusal to go along, and that lobbying from various constituencies didn't sway him? Even if AIPAC and the government of Israel came out strongly in support of it, he still would have announced his opposition?
Senator Schumer has frequently presented himself as a champion of Israel inside the United States Senate, and that much of the news coverage regarding Senator Schumer has focused on the lobbying by AIPAC and other similar organizations, as well as direct lobbying by the government of Israel. These are not inventions of David Duke or stormfront, these are matter-of-fact discussions in every mainstream press discussion of the Iran deal and its political treatment overall within the US, and specifically with regard to Chuck Schumer.
These are simple facts, which no one is denying.
