2. That's horrible...to take responsibility for an animal, then desert her in old age...

...I try to avoid sentimentality over animals, but one who's been a lifelong pet, and who regards herself as a person...if she's sick and a burden, better honest euthanasia than this, making her feel deserted and unloved. I'm glad she's found a home for her remaining time.
