(2,983 posts)When someone rather heavily betrays her party and most of it's members by supporting the payday loan industry and attempting to gut financial regulations... that is not progressive. Supporting wealthy special interest groups is not progressive. The colossal failure of the DNC over the last several years, I think, has a lot to do with the fact that it is not a progressive institution anymore, if it ever was.
I don't know about "our" party, in this regard, Mr. President. People who want to destroy financial regulations and support corrupt, predatory money lending companies are definitely not part of the party I believe in. Not sure what's democratic about that, not sure what's progressive about it. It would be one thing if she had lead the DNC to victories as opposed to defeats, to the promotion of progressive policies... to protecting the consumer. The thing is, I can't remember ever hearing much about her at all - until she started working against the left - and, thanks to actual progressives, that got some spotlight.
I strongly condemn the notion that Dear Sweet Debbie should be chair of the DNC - I am strongly confused as to why the President thinks she's progressive.
