In reply to the discussion: Debbie's Record [View all]AtheistCrusader
(33,982 posts)36. Relations between labor unions and the Democratic Party have fallen to dire straits under her watch.
Major union leaders have been warning our party for years now, that we can't just assume their support, if we don't start actually delivering on some shit when in power.
Edit: Removing older politico link:
"Here's labor getting thrown under the bus again," said John Gage, the national president of the American Federation of Government Employees, which represents 600,000 workers. "It's really frustrating for labor, and a lot of union people are thinking: We put out big time in money and volunteers and support. And it seems like the little things that could have been aren't being done."
That's a continuous drumbeat I've been hearing for at least 4 years now. Surest way to lose Labor support, is to continue taking them for granted. They could just stay home, or form an independent party.
DWS is part of setting the tone and priorities of the party, meaning, a large part of that problem.

I guess to be part of the New Democratic Party you have to pass a different sort of Wasserman test.

I would not wish that on anyone, even someone who despicably votes to put sick pot users in prison.
