Penetrate their talking points deeper than an inch. How are Trump's stated policies going to come about? How is he going to build a voting coalition that will, for example, stop all immigration and what does it mean when Trump says that will continue "until we figure this out"? Oh, and by the way: Is Trump REALLY going to stop all immigration by Muslims? Or was he just running his mouth, as he later admitted?

My impression is that a lot of Trump voters are reactionary. Some of what he says sounds good to them, but those appealing ideas don't really stand up to scrutiny. How will his proposals be paid for? Do we really want to turn away refugees fleeing horrible violence? How heartless do you have to be to see these people drowning and not want to do something?
