Last time I was passing through, the meal proceeded in this way: I had chicken noodle soup (heavy on the noodle). Then, before the chicken/mashed potato part of the meal actually arrived, I received small dishes of "salads": carrot/raisin, macaroni & peas, coleslaw, bean salad. I ate sparingly of those and tried to even things out by ordering the chicken liver spread. (Which is awesome, though I like Bavarian Inn's more than Zehnder's. Way more.) I don't actually even remember a green vegetable, but I suppose it was green beans, because that seems to be the safe "go-to" vegetable here in Michigan. Why? I do not know.

To the other poster who said it was tasty, homestyle German fare, well, that's certainly true. And a lot of it.

And going back even further, to the OP: being from SE Michigan, how could he not know Frankenmuth is famous for chicken dinners!? What a fraud, indeed.
